The History of Motorcycles

The first motorcycle was petroleum fueled. It was built in Germany in the year of 1885. The first American motorcycle was built in 1869. As motorcycles became more popular, they became more powerful. Before World War I, the largest producer of the motorcycle was the Indian Motor Cycle Manufacturing Company. In 1920, Harley-Davidson beat this and sold motorcycles in 67 countries.

Today, the Japanese companies hold the honor of being the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world. These companies are known as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, etc. Smaller capacity motorcycles are manufactured today in Asian and African countries. In 1958, the Honda Super Cub was the largest selling motorcycle of all. These two-wheelers were relied upon for transportation, sport, and fun. Today, they still are. The vey modern motorcycles are electric and they are very silent. Thanks to battery technology. Different type of motorcycles give different performance.

Many accessories are available whenyou purchase a motorcycle today. These accessories cn be for safety, performance, comfort, or appearance. The motorcycles of today are very cost-efficient. Motorcycles should be driven with caution because they have a higher fatality rate than automobiles. Accident rates are increasing.

There are three different types of motorcycles and they are street, off-road, and dual-purpose. Motorcycles produce much less pollution than cars. Motorcycles have a very good fuel efficiency. Each design of a motorcycle creates a different riding posture. They are sport, standard, and cruiser. Am example of this is someone who rides a sport motorcycles leans forward into the wind.
